Wes Edens is the chairperson of fortress investment Group. Fortress Investment Group is a huge investment management company with over $40 billion in assets. Wes Edens is also the co-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks as well as a co-owner of the New Orleans Saints. Wes Edens’s net worth is 2.2 billion dollars, making him one of the wealthiest people in the world.
Wesley Reed Edens was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, on December 18, 1956. Wes was born into an upper-middle-class family. Wes’s father worked as a lawyer and owned his law firm, while Wes’s mother stayed home and cared for the family. The Edens family moved to New Canaan, Connecticut, before Wesley graduated from high school so that he could attend a prep school known as Canterbury School, which is located in New Milford, CT.
Wes Edens is often considered one of the wealthiest people in America. That is due to his co-founding and leading the company Fortress Investment Group. In his autobiography, Edens discusses how he started business early and became a billionaire.
He also talks about valuable investment techniques which helped him amass wealth. Edens began his career by selling paperboys lunch boxes, then moving on to selling hot chocolate at a local McDonald’s. At age 11, Wes helped his father with trading options on futures markets – at the time, options were not available on futures contracts. A few years later, he was a stringer for various publications about stocks and bonds. He began his association with financial companies as a reporter at The Wall Street Journal in 1996. He soon ended up with a law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law, and a master’s in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. He also obtained an M.B.A. from New York University and attended law school in Oregon, where he graduated in 1993.

Wes Edens was able to put his knowledge to use by co-founding Fortress Investment Group along with Gilbert W. “Buddy” Dalzell Jr. Edens is credited as the strategist who invested in much of Fortress Investment Group’s spectacular growth. His business skills were recognized in 2007 when he was named CEO at Fortress Investment Group (formerly known as American Securities Capital Partners).
