Barry Lall
Barry Lall Born on 3rd of June, 1988; Barry Lall has been instrumental in establishing the Indian Premier League IPL T20 cricket tournament. He is the son of Hemendra Lall who was one of the international cricket players of his time.
The initial idea for the IPL came from K S Bedi who pitched it to Sanjay Dutt and Bollywood celebrity Sachin Tendulkar. The two were very keen to be a part of a new start-up venture that would involve cricket – Sanjay Dutt had played a large part in promoting cricket in India by playing the majority of his cricket at the international level.
Barry Lall is a year younger than Nishant Gavaskar, and has been described as being much like him, although there are many similarities between the two, such as size, batting ability and running between the wickets.
Barry Lall was born on June 3rd 1988, in Mumbai, India. He was first introduced to the game of cricket at the age of 9. At his primary school and junior college, he excelled at sports, having played almost every sport for his school team. Barry had a natural aptitude for all sports and soon gained a reputation as a great athlete. His talent would eventually lead him to play cricket professionally.
Barry Lall has featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL) team called the ‘Royal Challengers’ Bangalore (RCB)’. RCB is also known as ‘Caps’.
Barry’s contribution to the sports world has been remarkable that he has been recognized with many distinctions and accolades including being a Young Global Leader from World Economic Forum and also as an emerging philanthropist in India by Forbes India for two consecutive years, 2012 and 2013 respectively.
