Alliance Defending Freedom Proves Decency Is Not Dead

The Alliance Defending Freedom has procured for itself a descriptive and quite admirable legacy. Formerly known as Alliance Defense Fund, ADF group was formed in 1994 by leaders of the Christian community. This may be cause for alarm for some people who associate religion with a lack of true freedom. However, the group has gone out of its way to prove that this is far from the truth.

The ADF has gone to bat for a wide variety of groups that, on first glance, seem to be far removed from its own principles. These include such entities as the Latter-Day Saints, also known as Mormons. They have also defended the rights of groups such as the Jews, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Shia Muslims. This has been a proof of their sincerity.

The central tenet that the Alliance Defending Freedom has always chosen to operate by is clear. This is that religious freedom is meant for everyone. As a result, the group has gone out of its way to make sure that everyone gets a taste of this freedom. This extends to groups that help to express religious convictions all across the nation.

It should be noted that the Alliance Defending Freedom has also helped to defend the rights of people who share certain political convictions. These include people who may be members of the growing neoconservative or libertarian sector. The rights of people who belong to these groups need to be preserved in order for democracy to function.

The ADF has established an enviable legal and social record. Its legacy of activism on behalf of liberty is one that few of its so-called peers have managed to equal. Even fewer of them are likely to ever be able to surpass it. The truths that the group speaks up for can be seen as truly self-evident. See related link for more information.
