Who Are We

Who Are Big Dog and Ms Linda

Your probably wondering just who they and that’s a really

easy one to answer as we are among the common people

who are simply a retired firefighter and a dispatcher.

Linda used to send me into some various dangerous life

and death situations, and not many wives are willing do

that on a daily basis.  Linda knew…at that particular

given moment in time…I was the best person to help

the people in danger.

Something we discovered after retirement as we worked

different jobs…we never really felt, as we are sure a lot

of people feel, we’re doing what we were meant to do…

but for whatever reason we really couldn’t figure out why.

We often wondered if we were just what some people call

“Adrenaline Junkies” or what.  Looking deeper into the

reasons causing emergency personal to do the things we

do…we actually discovered something that was quite

surprising to us…we discovered was what motivates many

of them is an emotion that most would find a bit odd…its

“Anger”.  Yeah we understand that may sound a bit strange

but it’s true and we’ll explain why.

When you’re in the middle of a given situation, and it

doesn’t matter if you’re a Police Officer, a Firefighter,

or an Emergency Medial person, at that very moment

your emotions move into anger.  It’s not angry at any

person, but instead angry at the situation.  Your sense

of anger is motivation and a sensation that it’s similar

to feelings of your not letting this person get away, or

you not allowing this fire to beat you, or this person

will not die on you, and in past experiences…in everyone

of these cases, it’s this emotion that drives you to the

decision of “failure is not an option”…period.

Discovering this for us was huge as we began to read

more books on success we discovered this was a

common thread among successful people.  If you really

think about it how many times can you remember

when you took on a specific task, of going somewhere,

doing something, or just making a decision about

something where your final thoughts were anger and

you came to the decision of “failure is not an option”,

and what happened…remember how you accomplished

whatever it was you wanted?  It’s the same thing…you

got angry…but not at any person but at the task at hand…

come on you have to remember some time…

  • What if you were given this source of energy, willpower, and determination…would you want it?
  • What if you knew it would take work…not hard work…but steady work…would you do it?
  • What if you were able to tap into it on a regular basis…would that help you?
  • What if you could teach others…would you promise to do it?

The only way you’re going to be able to tap into this

somewhat hidden emotional trigger is to find something…

a cause if you will…that’s much bigger than you…we

did and you can to.

If you would like to read about…our trigger if you will…

to discover if it hits home with you enough to understand,

follow, learn, and teach these things we encourage you

to slip over and read about Our Obligation to help our

fellow brothers and sisters….

Thank you for reading about us and hope we gave you

something you didn’t already know…

Respectfully and sincerely,

Big Dog and Ms Linda
