Is there a lesson in Horton Hears A Who!
It’s funny how sometimes…something that you see,
hear or read brings clarity. For example I am reading
a study guide called “Warriors Nest” bynone other–
Joe Schroeder.
This morning I took a few minutes to read page 5 of this book. It was
like someone thumped me on the head…Thanks Joe….LOL
Let me explain…as a child…then later as a mother…
and now as agrandmother…my all time favorite
Dr Seuss Book is… none other than
“Horton Hears a WHO!”
You guessed it Page 5 of “Warriors Nest”
is about this story. and while reading this
page it struck me like a Ton of Bricks…
why this story was and is my favorite.
If you haven’t read this story…
I strongly urge you to do so…or if you
prefer…their is a movie with
Jim Carey as Horton now…so do yourself
a favor and read…or watch the movie.
The Story tells so much as to how life really is.
The main concept is -
Even if someone doesn’t hear you….
Never give up…don’t stop trying…
as Joe says…you don’t have to get it right
you just have to get it going…..
From the time we are little and go to school
we are all taught we need to strive to be perfect…
go for the straight A’s in school…if not….
you aren’t as good as everyone that does…
What they don’t necessarily tell you is…
no one is perfect…we were born to make mistakes…
and within our mistakes…each others mistakes,
True MASTERY is born.
Ahh but I am on a rant and we need to get
back to the reasoning ofHorton…
and his unfaltering belief in himself and the Who’s.
Even though Horton’s friends and family…
didn’t believe him…in fact many of them
thought him a bit nuts…he never gave up
and got beneath the Who’s to stand up together
to be heard.
You may ask how does this relate to the real world….
let’s think about it…
how many times have you believed in something…
however others around you maybe don’t…
so you just keep quiet…
rather than standing up for what you believe?
All of us have done this at some point…
didn’t want to be outcast…or thought weird.
What if you are the one person…
The “JO JO” in “Horton Hears A Who!
that makes the difference…

What if your voice…was the one voice
that someone was actually heard above all
others…to realize they weren’t alone and all they
needed was to hear your voice to bring it into focus…
to understand….so many times we let people around us
forget who we are…who we truly are deep inside…thinking
we are alone…and in actuality…others are just waiting to
hear someone else feels exactly like they do…
and you were that one person…
that gave them permission to stand up and be heard.
Does this ring true for you…and you want to learn how to
get your voice heard…call this number and follow the
instructions that you are prompted to…
