As Paul and I grow closer to retirement we
had to ask ourselves, that question.
And we realized we had to do something about
it. We both have worked hard for so many years,
was there a light at the end of the tunnel?
As we started out in the work force in the early
70′s, we were told work hard, put money into
your 401k or pension plan and watch your money
grow.
Just keep your nose to the grindstone and there will
be a rainbow at the end of it with your jackpot. Little
did we know then that as we became nearer our jackpot
would plummet, then the Real Estate Market would
come tumbling down. We had to ask what do we do now?
We started working on our plan B and C. Do you have
other plans set up? It was a struggle for us at the beginning
as to what should we do, how can we salvage and grow what
we have left, in the short amount of time we have to do it.
Last thing we wanted to do was work well into
our 70′s or even worse until we died.
We looked and looked, many times thinking we had
found our golden nugget, but always open to what
else we could do.
We know many that are around our age that are
still living pay check to paycheck without any savings
or retirement set up. How did this happen to our
American Dream…and how can we fix it?
Through our search we found many things to add to our
plans and at the same time something we can do together
and have fun at. If you only work for a living and you don’t
enjoy what you do, constantly you are watching the clock
waiting for 4, 5 or 6 o’clock so you can check out only to do
it again tomorrow.
