The Golden Years of Retirement Have Gone Crazy

It’s no wonder why the question of “Does your Retirement Income Stink” is circling in the minds of so many because the golden years for retirement have gone crazy.  With out a doubt this is no denying the fascination of retiring early.  We think of the possibilities of finally having enough money spend the much needed time with our love ones, or the time to travel and see those places we dreamed, or just pursue our favorite hobby.  It’s that time when those financial professionals advise us we would be ready for those wonderful years.  We would be ready to take the leap of faith stepping away from the 30-40 years of maintaining our sanity within the working world.  Is there any wonder why there are so many people all but foaming at the bit to move into retirement.

The real problem that is not understood or realized until your one of the lucky people who reach those “Golden Years” only to discover the advice you were give is not only bad but terribly wrong and it’s too late for second chances…or is it…

There is an article written by Phyllis Furman where she said and I quote “As 79 million American baby boomers near retirement age, many are targeted by advisers who try to persuade them that they, too, can retire early. Sometimes, the consequences are disastrous.  “Complaints from retiree investors have become the single largest area of concern in the securities industry,” New York securities lawyer David Robbins said.  Some poorly advised New Yorkers in their 50s, who otherwise might have continued to work for at least another decade, handed over their life savings only to watch them dwindle, with little hope of recouping their losses.”  In this same article another New York lawyer, Jenice Malecki, said “The toll can be especially harsh because victims don’t typically have many working years left to gain back what they lost. “These are irreplaceable assets.”   Is there little doubt that people are scared to death about not having enough money to retire on?

Let’s be straight up hear and talk reality…this is something we don’t necessarily need to read because many have felt the smashing of the American Dream…we bought into that pretty picture our Grandparents enjoyed, but unfortunately many people within our age group is up that famous river, and yeah you guessed it…no paddle…and from what we see it’s not a very comfortable place to be in.  But there are things you can do that could turn your situation around in as little as 6-8 months, but realistically we would say it better to look at 1-2 years, but even at that time span is that really all that bad…we don’t think so…but it takes work, dedication, education, will power, attitude, wisdom and if you fall 5 times you get up 6…do you think you can do that for the next year…we could…and we did…and loving each and every day…

Who’s Voice can add value to your Life

Who’s Voice or presence can add value into your life.

This is a hard question as sometimes the ones closest to you

May not be the best people to add value into your life.

This I think is the hardest lesson we have to learn when

You want to be more and make more of yourself,

Sometimes the people – that are closest to you

Are harming your ability to know what is right for you.

In most cases they mean well, they are either trying

to protect you or they are to afraid to make a change

so therefore, they won’t let you and they try very hard

to keep you safe (in their mind).

They may do this by saying, you can’t do that, who

do you think you are. No one will believe you, or

you’re acting silly, that will never work. Just stay

where you are and accept who you are, where you

are and what you are capable, don’t rock the boat.

In actuality, life isn’t always about taking the safest road,

or do nothing, life is what it is, sometimes

when your inner voice, higher self what ever you want to

call it is pulling at you, even when it is against your normal

way of thinking, it is showing you the path to the change

you are hoping for.

Many times life is about risk.  If you are like me, the easiest

path is not always the best.  If you want something and

want it bad enough your higher self will open doors for you.

You have free will to choose.

Will it be about the path of less resistance and

stay right where you are now, or is it the less

traveled road, covered with uncertainty  and

challenges you need in order to become closer

to the real you, you were meant to be.

Ask yourself this question, is this person or

persons, keeping me from finding out or stopping

me from where I want to be?

Meaning is their life the life you want for yourself

or are they possibly out of fear telling you not

to go for your dreams because they don’t want

you leaving them behind.

Many people in this world believe struggle is all

there is, the glass is half empty for those types.

It doesn’t matter how many times you fall down

in trying to change your life for the better, it is how

Quickly and how often you pick yourself back up.

The biggest obstacle there is to change is not

having your people standing and believing in you.

Many will not get past this and thus they will stay

right where they are and never know what they

could have become.

They believe in what others think more than

they do in themselves.

Many people told Paul and I that we would

never move to Phoenix, AZ. IF we did we would

end up moving back,  it was all a pipe dream.

We didn’t let that dis suede us at all.  In fact

it only got us to see it happening that much more.

It was the best decision we ever made and we

are now into our 11th year here. Our live’s

were changed for the better.

You have to believe in you.  If you can see it like

it has all ready happened or you all ready have it

the rest is easy.  Don’t let anyone tell you—

you can’t do that, are you crazy?

Ask yourself this instead-

How happy are they, how are they doing with their

Choices? Do you want the same for yourself or something

more. So much more is out there when you just believe

in yourself and go forward with what you know is

right for you.  So your voice is the #1 that can add

Value to your life.

You only have one life to live, and if you know and

have always felt there is more out there and you run

across something that you want to do or have so

badly, no matter what stands in your way, the

Universe, your maker will open doors for you to show

You the way, step by step.

You just have to make sure when he brings you the

signs you are open to receiving them. God gives us

all choices, it is up to us to choose which ones to act

upon.

Surround yourself with like minded people.

The more authentic you become to yourself and others

the happier you will be.  However, there may be some

people many times the closest ones to you, will have reason to dispise

the person you have become. It isn’t because of who you are

as much as you made the choice to follow your heart and

they choose to stay just as they were and blame everyone

else for their choices.  That is free will. Once you learn to

understand this, they will not be able to change your course.

The best way you can move forward is to surround yourself with

like minded people that celebrate your uniqueness and help

support your choices.

If that is one person or a group of people it doesn’t matter, what

does matter is you search out these like minded individuals

that celebrate your greatness with you.

Learn to do what’s in your head.  You are ALLOWED to be

ANYONE you decide to become.  You are ALLOWED to locate

Success through trial and error. You are ALLOWED to goof up

And then start over.

Expectations to TILT YOUR WORLD.

Start and be the best you can be NOW!

What scares the hell out of Baby Boomer’s

Yeah…got your attention…do you really know “What scares the hell out of Baby Boomer’s”, well one thing I can all but guarantee you is it’s NOT…DEATH.  I recently read an article by Sarah Gilbert which was actually quite interesting and from our perspective very close to home.  In her article she references a survey by the Allianz Life Insurance Company where in a poll 61% of older Americans between the ages of 44 and 75 said that running out of money was their biggest fear.  Wow how eye opening is that?  Not sure about Linda but for me I would agree with that statement…I worry more about not having enough money to retire, or not enough money to last us through retirement.  Don’t get me wrong it’s not like we don’t have plenty, but you just never know so the thought is always in the back of one’s mind.  Plus, when one says they have plenty I’m reminded of as a child when the food was not overly abundant growing up and you wanted more you were reminded by your parents you were fine you had plenty…just kidding but as you can see plenty is all relevant.
