What or how much is this going to cost me?

Share How many times before you even look at something are you asking yourself “What or how much is this going to cost me”.  This is just a short post on something I read this morning that has impacted me to the point I had to stop what I was doing and just write this post and the reason was because it impacts so many lives of so many people in today’s world.  But is it really the right question?  Are we really asking ourselves the right questions? Opportunities pass by our door step so many times and probably 9 out of 10 times we ask ourselves.  OK…how much do they want from me now, or what is this going to cost me, which is so bizarre because that is the only real time we do this to ourselves.  What we really should be asking ourselves is “Where is this going to take me” Sounds a bit strange yeah I thought so…but in actuality you and I do it all the time.  Let me give you just a couple of examples. You are a guy and your thinking about buying a new car…so you look at cars maybe in magazines,...

Older than Dirt #2

Share Come on let’s see if you qualify to be “Older than Dirt”.  We double dog dare you to see just how many memories this will give you.  Here is the second set of memories and you tell us just how much do you remember…we know from our test into this world of memories we are Older than Dirt.  Anyway we wanted to share some thing with all of our baby boomer friends out there and even to some of the younger people who might have seen some of these things on the TV or today I guess called the HGTV with Satellite.  You check it out, and then be sure to let us know your memories.  Have a fantastic day and remember you simply can never quit what you can not go a day without thinking about…to abandon your DREAM will invite disaster. You got your windshield cleaned, oil checked, and gas pumped, without asking, all for free, every time? And you didn’t pay for air? And, you got trading stamps to boot? Laundry detergent had free glasses, dishes or towels hidden inside the box? It was considered a great privilege to be taken out to dinner at...

Older Than Dirt

Share Come on let’s see if you qualify to be “Older than Dirt”.  We double dog dare you to see just how many memories this will give you.  We are going to give you some memories over the next week and you tell us just how much do you remember…we know from our test into this world of memories we are Older than Dirt.  Any way just wanted to share some thing with all of our baby boomer friends out there and even to some of the younger people who might have seen some of these things on the TV or today I guess called the HGTV with Satellite.  You check it out, and then be sure to let us know your memories.  Have a fantastic day and remember you simply can never quit what you can not go a day without thinking about…to abandon your DREAM will invite disaster. All the girls had ugly gym uniforms? It took three minutes for the TV to warm up? Nobody owned a purebred dog? When a quarter was a decent allowance? You’d reach into a muddy gutter for a penny? Your Mom wore nylons that came in two pieces? So there...

Thoughts can be wonderful when you let them.

Share Hi, its me Linda. So glad to see you here. I just wanted to share some thoughts with you today. I have been reading a book by James Allen. If you have never heard of him that is understandable as he was born in Leichester, England in 1864. He died in 1912. He wrote many books the one I am reading now it ‘As a Man Thinketh’. There is mainly two parts of this book I would like to share with you. The first is in his 2nd Chapter dealing with the Effect of Thought on Circumstances.  This was something that hit me very strongly and I hope it helps you also. He said that we only become who we are when we stop whining and start looking for the hidden truth or justice that regulates our life.  He goes onto say, you need to adapt your mind to that thought and stop accusing others for your present state of being. You need to start building yourself up with strong and noble thoughts; stop kicking against your circumstances and start using them as aids to your progress. When you discover that you will also discover your hidden powers...

Quote for today!

Share   "Life is no straight and easy corridor along which we travel free and unhampered, but a maze of passages, through which we must seek our way, lost and confused, now and again checked in a blind alley. But always, if we have faith a door will open for us, not perhaps one that we ourselves would ever have thought of, but one that will ultimately prove good for us." by A.J. Croni
